Wider (Mas malawak)

3:04 AM
Benguet Mountain Range (taken using an iPhone 4S from the College of Veterinary Medicine Building of Benguet State University).
Bawat hakbang na pasulong
Tila ba tayo'y lulong
Sa pangarap na bunga ng kahapon
At sa pag-asang hinaharap lang ang makatutugon

O patuloy nating panindigan
Itong tawag ng katauhan
Pagyamaning walang hanggan
Ang nilalaman ng isipan

Pagtigil ay walang puwang
Kung ayaw maging mangmang
Panatilihing walang hadlang
Ang paglawak ng kaalaman

Getting down with Diarrhea

12:00 AM
Diarrhea downed me for approximately three days, which includes a Sunday and two work days. Ironically, diarrhea has been a part of me since I was a child. I would almost always have diarrhea on a regular basis. Because of the frequency, I would sometimes ignore it and just go on with my usual day-to-day activities. However, this most recent attack rendered me very sick and, therefore, nonfunctional. Thanks to a dear doctor-friend (from the bottom of my heart), I was able to overcome the illness.

Because of the numerous times diarrhea hit me, I was able to collect some handy and nifty tips on how to manage diarrhea.
  1. If  you have the luxury to stay at  home, you only have to remember 3 things:
    • Eliminate: The best way to get rid of diarrhea is to actually let the contents of your colon out. This is to allow the removal of the culprit that makes you sick. So sit it out and let everything pass.
    • Rehydrate: In the process of eliminating the culprit, you will also eliminate needed materials in your system such as water and ions at a rapid rate. Because of this, you will need to replenish these by drinking rehydration fluids such as Gatorade.
    • Rest: Most of all, rest can be a very big help on your way to healing.
  2. If you are too busy to stay at home and do #1, what you can do is to drink loperamide to prevent bowel movement and buy you some time to do #1.
Thanks for reading! 'Til next time!

A Fresh Start

11:22 PM
I haven't been in this world for quite some time now. And after being absent for quite some time, I must say that this feels a bit different but certainly not indifferent. All I'm sure of right now is that I miss blogging (in long painstaking paragraphs) and I want in on this for the nth time.

So let me do a re-introduction, before anything else.

I AM CRIMSON. Yes, the color.
Screenshot taken from Wikipedia page.
But aside from Crimson being a color, it is also my name (yes, for real).

I am Crimson Tayco, currently a 26-year old young professional. I already finished an undergraduate degree in the sciences and I'm now TRYING (please take note of the operative word here) to finish a master's degree also in the sciences. I used to be a scientific researcher. But the winds of change brought me to the corporate world.

We'll get to know more of each other as I go along writing this new project. As a primer, I see this blog as a means to share the wonderful world that I am in right now. To be specific, I will tackle topics in the following areas:
  1. Music
  2. Food
  3. Science (the geek stuff)
  4. Gadgets and other electronics
  5. Fitness
  6. The internet
And with that, let me welcome you into my world! See you around! :)
